It will happen on October 7th . . . the world premiere of a new musical tribute to the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg composed by Ellen Taaffe Zwilich.  The premiere will be performed by mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, pianist Jeffrey Biegel and conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya.

In a recent video, Pianist/Composer Jeffrey Biegel spoke to Opera Joe about his journey to creating this musical tribute to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for the anniversary of her passing and the tremendous feelings it brought about for him last year in the time of Covid-19 and a world out of balance. A true musical tribute of heart and soul bringing together a talented group of musicians to sing and play to the Honorable Notorious RBG.
A concert featuring the world premiere of a new work by distinguished American composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich paying homage to and remembering Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the first anniversary of her passing in September 2020.
This new composition – featuring Denyce Graves (mezzo-soprano) and Jeffrey Biegel (pianist and project coordinator), with the DSO – is co-commissioned by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, with the generous support of the Norma and Don Stone New Music Fund, and the Billy Rose Foundation and the American Composers Forum.
