Classical Archives is honored to present a conversation with three people who were motivating forces behind the creation of a major new Passion, The Passion of Yeshua by American composer Richard Danielpour.

Joining in the discussion are

  • Richard Danielpour, composer of Yeshua
  • JoAnn Falletta, conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic, who conducted both the first performance of Yeshua with the Oregon Bach Festival and the Grammy-nominated Naxos recording
  • Joseph A. LoSchiavo, President of SDG Music Foundation, co-commissioners of the work

The Naxos recording of Richard Danielpour’s The Passion of Yeshua has been nominated for three Grammys –  for Best Engineered Album, Classical; for Best Choral Performance; and for Best Contemporary Classical Composition. Winners of the 2021 Grammy Awards will be announced on Sunday, March 14, 2021.
